The Ites fell behind to an early Tom Scorer goal but Helge Orome pulled them level before Ashley Sains won the points in first half injury time.
Chatham Town are in third place after Jack Evans 22nd minute goal turned out to be the only one in their game with Hollands & Blair at Star Meadow.
The 504 in attendance was a record home crowd for Blair.
Bearsted and Deal Town drew 2-2 with the late-earned point for Deal maintaining their 5th position.
