Wednesday night gave us 5 games and  18 goals and after we have a smaller gap between the leaders and the pack as Croydon lost at home to Forest Hill Park and Stansfeld won at Bridon Ropes.

Elsewhere first though and it was Snodland Town that had the biggest win of the night as they won 5-0 at Faversham Strike Force.

Caine Smith claimed a double and Lee Friend, Ted Hodges and Jordan Payne got the others.

Staplehurst Monarchs produced a stunning late comeback to beat Rochester United 2-1.

The Spartans led through Lewis Wood’s 55th minute strike before recent Monarchs signing James Jeffrey hit a late double to earn the hosts the points.

Kent Football United were also 2-1 winners on the night as they made the short journey home from FC Elmstead as victors.

Antonio Gonnella’s free-kick opened the scoring, Rodney Erouter made it 2-0 and it was Kola Salami that hit the net for the hosts.

The win sees KFU go 9th while FC Elmstead remain in 17th place.

Top of the tree are still Croydon but their advantage has shrunk after they saw defeat at home to an impressive Forest Hill Park side.

It was the Trams that took the lead through Josh Owen but goals from Blessing Hombessa and Jason Johns saw the visitors take a surprise but fully deserved win.

Stansfeld are in second, a point behind Croydon but with 2 games in hand after they were 3-1 winners at Bridon Ropes.

Casey Killilea, Jack Carthy and Ollie Milton got the goals for Stansfeld who are the onlu unbeaten team in the First Division.
