Tooting Bec – A Brief History

Founded in 2004, Tooting Bec FC began life in the Surrey South Eastern Combination and enjoyed rapid success, climbing through the divisions before winning both the Division One title and the League Shield during the 2009/10 season.

The club continued its impressive rise by joining the Surrey Elite Intermediate League, where it was crowned League Champions in 2017/18 to earn promotion into the Combined Counties League. Following the Football Association’s National League System restructuring in 2021, Tooting Bec were transferred into the Southern Counties East Football League First Division, where they have since established themselves as a competitive side.

The club has enjoyed several memorable campaigns in recent years, reaching the First Division Play-Off Final in 2022/23 before recording mid-table finishes over the following two seasons. Silverware arrived in 2024/25 when Bec lifted the London Senior Trophy, and another successful cup run followed in 2025/26 as they defeated Lordswood at Cray Wanderers to win the SCEFL Division One Cup.

Managed by James Parsons, Tooting Bec will once again look to challenge towards the top end of the First Division in 2026/27.

The club currently plays its home matches at Chipstead FC following previous spells at Fishponds Lane, Prince George’s Playing Fields and Imperial Fields.
