The New Year got underway with some cracking First Division fixtures including a match-up between the top two teams in the table.

Stansfeld twice led at home to Sutton Athletic but both of Dan Parkinson’s goals for the hosts were quickly levelled by the current Division leaders.

Tooting Bec now split that pair in the ranking following a last minute win at Croydon.

Jack Martin’s in-swinging corner received a deft touch by Ali Wiltshire to earn Bec a vital 3 points.

SC Thamesmead’s rise up the table continued following a 4-1 win at ‘high-flying’ Bridon Ropes.

Ayo Bakare notched a brace for The Acre who have won their last 5 league games to rise up to 9th place.

Larkfield are 6th and closing in on a play-off position after winning 4-0 at Faversham Strike Force.

Josh Jackson, Hicham Akhazzan, Brett Ince and Stuart West were all on target for The Larks, whose unbeaten League record stretches back 3 months.

Caine Smith scored twice and Dan Ashton got the other in a 3-1 win for Snodland Town at home to Lydd Town.

Rochester United also netted a trio, and needed them all in a 5-goal thriller at Kent Football United.

The games at Lewisham Borough and Staplehurst Monarchs were both postponed.
