Ground Name and Directions
The Acclaim Handling Community Stadium, Park View Road, Welling, DA16 1SY
Take the M25 to Junction 2. At the roundabout, take the A2 towards Central London. Leave the A2 at the third exit (Danson Interchange, signposted A221 to Bexleyheath and Sidcup). Turn right (second exit) at the roundabout at the end of the slip road, and then turn right (third exit) at the next roundabout. Go under the A2 Bridge and up the slope to another roundabout. Take the second exit and follow the road (Danson Road) to the traffic lights at the end. Turn left at the lights onto Park View Road. The ground is on the left. There is no car park, but plenty of street parking is available.
Erith & Belvedere – A History
Founded in 1922, Erith & Belvedere FC has long been one of Kent’s most historic non-league clubs. The Deres quickly established themselves on the national stage, reaching the FA Amateur Cup Final in both 1923/24 and 1937/38, while also winning the Kent Amateur Cup and enjoying considerable success before and after the Second World War.
The club became founder members of the Corinthian League in 1945 and remained a prominent force in amateur football for many years, later competing in the Athenian League before returning to the Kent League in 1978. Promotion to the Southern League followed after winning the Kent League Division One title in 1981/82, with the club spending over two decades at Step 4 before returning to Kent football in 2005.
A memorable Southern Counties East League title triumph came in 2012/13, when the Deres dramatically secured the championship with a 7-1 victory on the final day to earn promotion to the Isthmian League. Although relegation followed a year later, the club rebuilt and, after promotion from Division One in 2018/19, continued its resurgence.
Following several managerial changes, Andy Constable and Matt Longhurst guided Erith & Belvedere to the 2022/23 SCEFL Premier Division title, securing another return to Step 4. Their stay in the Isthmian League lasted just one season before relegation, but the club responded with a solid seventh-place finish back in the Premier Division during 2024/25, followed by an 11th-place finish in 2025/26.
Gary Alexander is at the helm for the 2026/27 campaign as the Deres look to once again challenge towards the top end of the Premier Division.
