There’s plenty riding on this weekend’s Premier Division action, with the title, play-offs and relegation picture all in sharp focus.
At the top, Whitstable Town could wrap things up far earlier than anyone expected. Victory at home to in-form Chislehurst Glebe, combined with Fisher slipping up against Kennington, would see the trophy heading to the Belmont with weeks to spare. Fisher, though, will be desperate to delay the celebrations and keep their aims of a second placed finish in their own hands.
The play-off race is where things really get tasty. Third meets fourth as Larkfield & New Hythe host Bearsted in a huge six-pointer, while fifth-placed Rusthall put their strong home record on the line against Sutton Athletic, who could leapfrog them with an away win. Phoenix Sports and Hollands & Blair are both charging into contention and meet in another clash that could reshape the top five, while Punjab United know only a win at Corinthian keeps their push alive. Snodland Town also have an opportunity to rejoin the race if they can see off Faversham Strike Force.
At the bottom, the pressure is just as intense. Faversham sit just above trouble and won’t fancy a trip to Snodland, while Hythe Town are running out of time and points as they host Holmesdale in what feels like a must-win. Tunbridge Wells, meanwhile, could all but secure their safety with a home win over Stansfeld, but for the visitors it’s rapidly becoming last-chance saloon territory.
In short: title on the brink, play-off chaos everywhere, and survival fights getting desperate. Proper end-of-season stuff.
