It was another huge day in the Premier Division—and while the champagne stays on ice for now, Whitstable Town moved ever closer to the title with a comfortable 3-0 win over Chislehurst Glebe. Fisher ensured the race isn’t officially over just yet, though, with an emphatic 4-1 victory against Kennington.
Whitstable are now on a remarkable 23-game unbeaten run and sit just one point from the title, which could now come as early as Tuesday at Rusthall. Goals from Javaun Splatt (23’, 44’) and Jack Nelson (72’) sealed the win in front of a crowd of 860 at the Belmont.
Fisher remain firmly on course for second place after their win over Kennington. Armani-Jordan Martin (7’), Tom Jones (49’, 77’ pen) and Lorenzo Duncan (81’) did the damage, with the ironically named Joe Fisher (47’) replying for the visitors.
The play-off race saw some major movement, none more eye-catching than Larkfield & New Hythe’s stunning 5-0 demolition of Bearsted. Tyler Ibe (9’), Kesna Clarke (29’), Sonny Black (32’) and a late double from Steven Famose (84’, 90’ pen) fired the Larks into third as they swapped places with their opponents.
Into the top five go Sutton Athletic, who claimed a big 2-1 win at Rusthall—ending the hosts’ unbeaten home record in the process. Charlie Clover (34’) had put the Rustics ahead, but goals from Enoch Muwonge (76’) and Conor Evans (85’) turned it around late on.
Phoenix Sports are right in the mix as well, extending their unbeaten run to 11 games with a 4-1 win over Hollands & Blair. Jamarie Brissett stole the show with a hat-trick (16’, 51’, 90+1’), alongside a goal from Khayrie Harris (70’), while Dieko Falade (62’) scored a consolation for Blair.
Punjab United kept their play-off hopes alive with an impressive 4-1 win at Corinthian. Roman Campbell was the standout with a hat-trick (34’, 42’, 87’), supported by Wayne Bushell (48’). Tom Mitcham (90+4’) pulled one back late for Corinthian, who then saw Oliver Fryer (90+7’) and Jamie Billings (90+9’) both sent off in a chaotic finish.
Snodland Town dragged themselves right into the play-off conversation with a 4-2 win over Faversham Strike Force. Steve Townsend (19’, 70’), Sam Wood (53’) and an own goal (79’) did the damage, despite a brace from Alex Willis (10’, 50’). There are now seven teams battling for that final play-off place, separated by just three points.
At the bottom end, Tunbridge Wells eased their worries with a 2-1 win over Stansfeld. Goals from Regan Corke (62’) and Rhys Bartlett (75’) overturned Macey Malyon’s early strike (9’), leaving Wells looking safe and Stansfeld in real trouble.
Hythe Town’s survival hopes took another blow as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Holmesdale. Jerald Aboagye (13’) had put Hythe ahead, but Mecca Maxime-Samuels struck in stoppage time (90+2’) to snatch a point.
Plenty changed—but not at the very top, where it’s now just a matter of when, not if, for Whitstable.
