Premier Division Midweek Matches
After a weekend dominated by FA Vase action, the Premier Division returns with a near-full programme in midweek, with seven games on Tuesday followed by two more on Wednesday.
The table remains extremely tight and, with several clubs having games in hand, there is plenty of scope for movement at both ends.
Chislehurst Glebe v Erith & Belvedere
Two sides looking to kick-start their league campaigns meet with important points on offer. Glebe sit 15th with four points from six games, while Erith & Belvedere are bottom with three points from four.
Both will see this as an opportunity to make progress in the lower reaches of the table.
Corinthian v Petts Wood & Holmesdale
These two have played fewer league matches than anyone else, with both having completed just three fixtures.
Petts Wood & Holmesdale have made the stronger start, collecting six points from nine available, while Corinthian have four. With games in hand throughout the table, both have an opportunity to make those count over the coming weeks.
Larkfield & New Hythe v Faversham Strike Force
Faversham make the trip to Larkfield looking for a response after Saturday’s dramatic 4-3 defeat at Fisher.
Strike Force remain firmly involved near the top, sitting fourth on 10 points, while Larkfield have seven points from seven games. The hosts ended a run of four successive defeats with a 1-1 draw at Beckenham in their most recent league outing.
Phoenix Sports v AFC Greenwich Borough
AFC Greenwich Borough return to league action with one of the most eye-catching positions in the table.
The newly-promoted side are third with 10 points from only four games and remain unbeaten in the Premier Division. Victory at Phoenix would take them to 13 points and put them clear at the top.
Phoenix are 17th after taking three points from their opening six matches and were narrowly beaten 1-0 at Hollands & Blair last time out.
Rusthall v Beckenham Town
Rusthall will look to build on their impressive 3-1 victory over Kennington when Beckenham visit.
The Rustics have six points from four games, while Beckenham sit eighth on eight points from five. The Becks drew 1-1 with Larkfield last time out and have lost only once in the league so far.
SE Dons v Fisher
Arguably the standout fixture of Tuesday night sees the current leaders visit one of the division’s unbeaten sides.
Fisher head the table following Saturday’s thrilling 4-3 victory over Faversham, Tyrese Briscoe’s stoppage-time winner taking them to 11 points.
SE Dons, however, have played only three league matches and have collected seven points while scoring 12 goals and conceding just three. Victory would take them to 10 points and right into the leading group.
For Fisher, another win would guarantee they remain top regardless of results elsewhere on Tuesday.
Snodland Town v Hollands & Blair
There is another big game towards the top as second-placed Snodland host sixth-placed Hollands & Blair.
Snodland are level with Fisher on 11 points, trailing the leaders only on goal difference after Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Tunbridge Wells.
Blair are only two points behind and arrive having won their last two league matches, beating Bearsted 2-1 before following up with a 1-0 victory over Phoenix Sports.
With just two points separating the sides, this is another fixture capable of reshaping the top six.
Kennington v Bearsted
Wednesday’s programme begins with two clubs looking to return to winning ways.
Kennington made an excellent start but have now suffered successive defeats against Faversham Strike Force and Rusthall. They remain seventh with eight points from six games.
Bearsted have played only four times and sit fifth with nine points, having won their opening three before their unbeaten start was ended by Hollands & Blair.
Sutton Athletic v Tunbridge Wells
Sutton Athletic host Tunbridge Wells in Wednesday’s other fixture.
Sutton have three points from four games and were denied a draw by Fisher’s stoppage-time winner in their most recent league outing.
Wells moved onto five points with Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Snodland, holding on despite being reduced to ten men in the closing stages.
Plenty at Stake
With Fisher and Snodland currently level on 11 points, AFC Greenwich Borough only one point behind with games in hand and several more clubs within striking distance, the battle at the top remains wide open.
Nine games across two nights should give the Premier Division table a very different look by Wednesday evening.
