Premier Division Midweek Matches
After a weekend dominated by FA Vase action, the Premier Division returns with a near-full programme in midweek, with seven games on Tuesday followed by two more on Wednesday.
The table remains extremely tight and, with several clubs having games in hand, there is plenty of scope for movement at both ends.
Fisher strengthened their position at the top of the SCEFL Premier Division on a busy Tuesday night, while there were big wins for Chislehurst Glebe and Corinthian and remarkable late drama at Snodland.
Fisher’s 3-1 victory away at SE Dons moved the leaders onto 14 points from seven games and, with those immediately behind them dropping points, opened up a two-point advantage at the summit.
Chislehurst Glebe 5-1 Erith & Belvedere
Luke Medley hit a hat-trick as Chislehurst Glebe returned to winning ways in emphatic fashion.
Medley opened the scoring from the penalty spot after 15 minutes and added his second in the 27th minute. Ben Oladapo-Gamu struck on 70 minutes before Medley completed his treble six minutes from time.
Nathan Palmer rounded off the scoring in the second minute of stoppage time as Glebe moved onto seven points.
Corinthian 5-2 Petts Wood & Holmesdale
Corinthian also hit five as they collected their second league victory of the campaign.
Oscar Housego opened the scoring after 23 minutes and Jake Williams added another just two minutes later.
Jamie Billings struck shortly after half-time, before late goals from Asanti Amoah and Harrison Fryer completed an impressive 5-2 victory.
Larkfield & New Hythe 2-2 Faversham Strike Force
The points were shared at Larkfield, where the hosts twice found themselves behind.
Yannick Kissi gave Larkfield the lead after 40 minutes, but Tristan Holden levelled for Faversham in first-half stoppage time.
Kane Taylor put Strike Force ahead in the 63rd minute before Daniel Gebor struck nine minutes from time to earn Larkfield a point.
Phoenix Sports 1-1 AFC Greenwich Borough
A battle of the right-backs ended all square at Phoenix Sports.
Phoenix took an early lead through Ricardo Thompson in the 10th minute, before fellow right-back Joshua Shonibare equalised for AFC Greenwich Borough five minutes after the restart.
The visitors dominated possession and saw a Stefan Payne penalty saved at the end of the first half.
The draw means Greenwich Borough remain unbeaten in the Premier Division, with 11 points from five games, while Phoenix move onto four points.
Rusthall 3-1 Beckenham Town
Rusthall continued their strong run with a second successive 3-1 league victory.
Josh Reid gave the Rustics the lead after seven minutes before Yassin Fares doubled the advantage four minutes before half-time.
Jack Kirby added Rusthall’s third in the 69th minute as they followed up their victory over Kennington with another three points. They now sit seventh with nine points from only five matches.
SE Dons 1-3 Fisher
The result of the night at the top belonged to Fisher, who continued their impressive start with a 3-1 victory at SE Dons.
The win moves Fisher onto 14 points from seven games and extends their advantage at the top of the table to two points.
It was also the first league defeat of the season for SE Dons, who had taken seven points from their opening three matches.
Snodland Town 3-3 Hollands & Blair
There was extraordinary late drama at Snodland, where the hosts rescued a point with two Kian Scott goals in stoppage time.
Mo Cham put Hollands & Blair ahead after only three minutes, but Chris Alhassan responded for Snodland four minutes later.
A Dean Grant double, in the 60th and 79th minutes, put Blair 3-1 ahead and seemingly on course for all three points.
Snodland, though, produced a remarkable finish. Kian Scott scored in the 91st minute and then struck again in the 94th to snatch a 3-3 draw.
The point takes Snodland onto 12 and keeps them second, two points behind Fisher.
Wednesday night’s two Premier Division fixtures produced home victories for Kennington and Sutton Athletic, with seven goals at Lower Road and an important result towards the top of the table at Homelands.
Kennington 2-0 Bearsted
Kennington returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Bearsted, a result which lifts them into third place.
After a goalless first half, Tom Scorer broke the deadlock in the 58th minute before Elliott Moore added the second nine minutes from time to secure all three points.
It was an important response from Kennington following successive league defeats against Faversham Strike Force and Rusthall.
They now have 11 points from seven games, moving above AFC Greenwich Borough and Faversham Strike Force in the table, although Borough have played two games fewer.
Bearsted remain on nine points after suffering their second successive league defeat.
Sutton Athletic 5-2 Tunbridge Wells
There was no shortage of goals at Sutton, where Tom Mitcham scored a hat-trick in a 5-2 victory over Tunbridge Wells.
Mitcham opened the scoring after only five minutes before Rhys Bartlett equalised for Wells in the 14th minute.
Lennon Minihane then put Tunbridge Wells ahead on the half-hour, but Sutton responded strongly. Taylor Fisher levelled in the 38th minute before Mitcham’s second, a minute before half-time, sent the hosts into the break 3-2 ahead.
Mitcham completed his hat-trick in the 78th minute, with Muriano Banjoko adding a fifth in stoppage time to round off Sutton’s biggest league win of the season so far.
The victory doubles Sutton’s points tally to six and moves them up to 14th, while Tunbridge Wells slip to 16th.
Midweek Complete
With the midweek programme now complete, Fisher remain top on 14 points, two clear of Snodland Town.
Kennington’s victory moves them third on 11 points, with AFC Greenwich Borough and Faversham Strike Force also on 11.
After nine Premier Division matches across Tuesday and Wednesday produced 38 goals, it has been a busy couple of nights across the division.
