SCEFL Club Development Grant Window Now Open
The Southern Counties East Football League is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the SCEFL Club Development Grant, available to all Premier Division and First Division member clubs.
The grant has been created to support clubs with important development projects, including ground improvements, workforce development and essential operational needs.
Grants of up to £500 Available
Clubs can apply for funding of up to £500, with the current application window remaining open until 30th September 2026.
Applications will be considered by a panel made up of members of the SCEFL Board and Management Committee.
The application process has been designed to be as straightforward as possible, while ensuring that League funds are used appropriately and provide a genuine benefit to member clubs.
What Can the Grant Be Used For?
Funding can support a wide range of club development needs, including:
- Pitch and ground improvements
- Safety or accessibility upgrades
- Coaching, safeguarding or grounds maintenance courses
- Essential equipment that supports club operations
Applications will be assessed based on need, impact, value for money, deliverability and compliance.
How to Apply
Premier Division and First Division clubs wishing to apply should complete the SCEFL Club Development Grant Application Form.
The deadline for applications is 30th September 2026.
Successful applicants will be notified during October 2026, following consideration by the SCEFL panel.

SCEFL Club Development Grant – FAQs
What can the grant be used for?
The grant is designed to support projects that improve club facilities, develop staff and volunteers, or strengthen a club’s long-term sustainability.
Examples include:
- Pitch and ground improvements
- Safety or accessibility upgrades
- Coaching, safeguarding or grounds maintenance courses
- Essential equipment that supports club operations
How much can we apply for?
Clubs can apply for up to £500.
Depending on the number of applications received and the level of demand, the League may award a lower amount than requested.
Do we need match funding?
No. Match funding is not required.
However, any contribution from the club, whether financial or in-kind, may strengthen the application.
What evidence do we need to provide?
Clubs should provide:
- Relevant quotes
- A breakdown of expected costs
- A short explanation of the project and the impact it will have on the club
How long will decisions take?
Applications will be considered following the closing date of 30th September 2026.
Decisions will be communicated within four weeks of the application deadline.
What happens if we are successful?
Successful clubs will receive the agreed grant payment.
Once the project has been completed, clubs will be required to provide:
- Receipts or other appropriate evidence of expenditure
- A short completion report outlining how the funding was used
Can we apply if we have outstanding fines or debts?
No.
Clubs must be fully compliant and in good standing with the Southern Counties East Football League to be eligible for funding.
