SC Thamesmead 3-0 Staplehurst Monarchs

SC Thamesmead moved to the verge of safety with an emphatic 3-0 first-half display against Staplehurst Monarchs.

Goals from Owen Jeavons, Patrick Geddis and another from Jeavons before the break put the hosts firmly in control, and they could easily have had more in a dominant opening 45 minutes.

Staplehurst improved after the interval and showed far more fight, forcing a number of saves from Michael Crabbe, who was key in preserving the clean sheet. However, the damage had already been done as Thamesmead comfortably saw the game out.

The result leaves the Acre all but safe, with only the most unlikely of scenarios denying them survival.
