Larkfield & New Hythe sit top of the early SCEFL Premier Division table after an impressive 3-1 victory over Tunbridge Wells on Saturday.
Daniel Gebor gave Larkfield the perfect start by scoring inside the opening minute before Kieron McCann doubled the advantage after 16 minutes. Tom Penfold pulled one back for Wells, but Augusto Chiari struck five minutes from time to seal the points and maintain Larkfield’s winning start to the campaign.
Faversham Strike Force move into second place after recording their first league victory of the season. Josh Oliver’s sixth-minute goal proved enough to secure a 1-0 win over Phoenix Sports, who drop to the foot of the early table.
There was also a first league victory for Chislehurst Glebe, who beat Snodland Town 2-0 in front of a crowd of 177 at Foxbury. Brandon Barrance opened the scoring shortly before half-time, with Ryan Kelly adding the second seven minutes after the restart.
The day’s late drama came at Rusthall.
Jack Kirby put the Rustics ahead after nine minutes before Euan Mutale levelled for Fisher midway through the first half. The game looked destined to finish all-square until Lekan Osideko struck in the seventh minute of stoppage time to give Rusthall a dramatic 2-1 victory and their first three points of the season.
With the FA Vase taking much of the attention elsewhere, the four Premier Division fixtures still delivered plenty of early-season talking points – with Larkfield & New Hythe the side setting the pace.
