The FA Vase takes centre stage across the SCEFL this weekend, meaning there are just two Premier Division fixtures on Saturday – but both could have a major impact at the top of the table.

With AFC Greenwich Borough currently leading the way on 10 points, Faversham Strike Force, Snodland Town and Fisher all have the opportunity to finish Saturday at the summit.

Fisher v Faversham Strike Force

Sixth hosts third in an intriguing contest, with both sides coming into the weekend in good form.

Faversham Strike Force are level on 10 points with leaders AFC Greenwich Borough and Snodland Town. They have won their last two league games, following up a 2-1 success at Kennington with last Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Chislehurst Glebe, when Josh Oliver scored twice and Kane Taylor added the other.

Victory at Fisher would therefore take Strike Force to 13 points and a possible top spot at the end of the day.

Fisher are two points further back but have played one game fewer than Faversham. They have lost only once in five league outings and arrive on the back of a dramatic 2-1 win at Sutton Athletic, where Festos Kamara struck in stoppage time.

Three points would take Fisher to 11 points, enough to move above current leaders Greenwich Borough, although whether they finished the day top would depend on events at Tunbridge Wells.

Tunbridge Wells v Snodland Town

Snodland Town also begin the weekend on 10 points and know victory at Tunbridge Wells would take them to 13 an da likely first place.

Snodland have made an excellent start, winning three of their opening five league matches, with their most recent league outing producing a 3-0 victory at Larkfield & New Hythe.

Tunbridge Wells have had a more disrupted start to their league campaign and have played only four matches. They sit 13th with four points, but have already shown their attacking threat with 11 goals, a total bettered by only Fisher, Kennington and SE Dons.

With so many Premier Division clubs occupied by FA Vase ties, the league programme may be small – but there is plenty riding on the two games that remain.

Faversham Strike Force and Snodland Town can both take top spot with victory, while Fisher can also reach the summit depending on the two results.

By Saturday evening, the Premier Division could have a new leader.
