22/08 – Larkfield & New Hythe v Kennington

Kennington produced an impressive away performance to beat Larkfield & New Hythe 4-1 in Saturday’s only SCEFL Premier Division fixture.

Larkfield went into the game knowing a point would have taken them to the top of the early table and made the perfect start when Tunde Aderonmu opened the scoring after just eight minutes.

Their advantage didn’t last long, however, with Ryan Philpott bringing Kennington level six minutes later before Charlie Owen completed the turnaround in the 35th minute to send the visitors into the break 2-1 ahead.

Kennington struck again almost immediately after the restart through Kai Garrett, whose 46th-minute goal gave the visitors some breathing space.

Jake Abrahams completed an excellent afternoon for Kennington with the fourth goal after 74 minutes, sealing a convincing 4-1 victory.

The result maintains Kennington’s unbeaten start to the league campaign and lifts them up to fourth place, while Larkfield miss the opportunity to take over at the summit but remain third.
