The SCEFL First Division takes centre stage again on Saturday with eight games on the schedule and plenty to look out for at both ends of the early table.
Rochester United are setting the pace after a perfect start to the campaign. Three games have brought three victories, with just one goal conceded, and they will be looking to make it four from four when they welcome Halls AFC to Rede Court Road. Halls picked up their first point of the season in dramatic fashion on Wednesday night, with Abdulahmed Oladimeji’s 96th-minute equaliser earning a 1-1 draw against FC Elmstead.
One of the most intriguing games comes at Staplehurst Monarchs, who are the only other side in the Division with a 100% record. The Monarchs have won both of their games, scoring six goals in the process, and now host an unbeaten Lewisham Borough side that earned an impressive point at Croydon in midweek.
Lydd Town are another team yet to taste defeat. Five points from their opening three games has put them fourth and they now welcome Welling Town to the Lindsey Field. Welling have endured a difficult start, losing their opening two matches without scoring and conceding eight, so will be desperate to get their first points on the board.
After suffering their first defeat of the season at Rochester on Tuesday, Greenways will be looking to respond when they travel to Banstead Athletic. The hosts are also searching for their first points after defeats in their opening two fixtures.
Hythe Town have played just once in the league so far, but made that game count with a 1-0 victory at Halls. The Cannons now return to league action with a trip to Bridon Ropes, who have collected one point from their opening two matches.
At Martyn Grove, Lordswood and Stansfeld will both be looking to get back to winning ways. Lordswood opened with an impressive victory over Banstead before losing at Staplehurst in midweek, while Stansfeld have taken one point from their opening two games.
SCEFL newcomers Minster celebrated their first league point on Wednesday with a 1-1 draw at Lydd Town and will now look for that historic first victory when they welcome Tooting Bec. The visitors arrive having collected four points from their last two games following Tuesday night’s victory at Banstead.
Completing the programme, Sheppey Sports host FC Elmstead. Sheppey are yet to get off the mark after their opening defeat to Lewisham Borough, while Elmstead picked up their first point of the campaign at Halls on Wednesday.
With Rochester leading the way, Staplehurst looking to protect their own perfect record and several clubs still searching for that first victory, there is plenty to play for across the First Division this weekend.
All eight games kick off at 3pm, with live scores and match updates available throughout the afternoon via our usual Football Web Pages links.
