Saturday 4 April
PREMIER DIVISION
Holmesdale v Faversham Strike Force
Larkfield & New Hythe v Hythe Town
Snodland Town v Phoenix Sports
Tunbridge Wells v Kennington
Whitstable Town v Fisher
It’s Easter Saturday and we’re down to one of the final four weekends of the regular season. We have the top two colliding, relegation permutations everywhere, and a couple of “win or go home” play-off auditions thrown in for good measure.
At the top, it’s first against second as Whitstable Town host Fisher with the Champions looking to close the season out in style. Fisher, meanwhile, are eyeing up that crucial second spot to lock in home advantage through the play-offs. If these two end up going up, no one could say it wasn’t deserved — they’ve set the standard and this game could prove it.
Down at the other end, things could get brutally final. Holmesdale host Faversham Strike Force knowing the ripple effects could be huge. A win for the visitors would confirm Stansfeld’s relegation and leave Hythe Town clinging onto survival by their fingertips — and even that might be generous.
Hythe themselves face a tough trip to Larkfield & New Hythe, and realistically, it’s last-chance saloon territory. Anything but a win and they are done. Even with three points, they’ll still be relying on favours elsewhere — not a position you ever want to be in this late in the season.
In the middle of it all, Snodland Town v Phoenix Sports is as close as you’ll get to a knockout game without a trophy on the line. Both sides know the deal: lose, and the play-off dream is effectively over; win, and there’s still a pulse. Expect tension, maybe a few nerves, and definitely no shortage of commitment.
Tunbridge Wells will be looking to keep their own top-five ambitions alive when they host Kennington. Wells have been hovering just close enough to stay interested, and a win here keeps the pressure on those above them. Slip up, and it might finally be a step too far.
Five games, and pretty much every one of them has something riding on it. At this stage of the season, there’s nowhere to hide — it’s about handling the pressure, taking your chances, and, for some, delaying the inevitable just a little bit longer.
