Saturday 24th January
PREMIER DIVISION
Chislehurst Glebe v Faversham Strike Force
Larkfield & New Hythe v Corinthian
Snodland Town v Hythe Town
Stansfeld v Tunbridge Wells
Whitstable Town v Phoenix Sports
Cup commitments elsewhere mean a lighter Premier Division schedule this weekend, but don’t be fooled — the five games that remain are absolutely loaded with consequence at both ends of the table.
Leaders Whitstable Town return to league action with a rearranged clash against Phoenix Sports, and the Oystermen continue to set the pace. Fourteen league games unbeaten and ten points clear at the summit, it’s all looking very comfortable — maybe too comfortable. Phoenix sit mid-table but are firmly in the play-off conversation, unbeaten in five and with confidence growing. Their last defeat? The reverse fixture back in November. This is a proper test of Whitstable’s grip on the title.
Second-placed Larkfield & New Hythe are edging ever closer to locking in a play-off place and welcome Corinthian knowing a repeat of the 3–0 away win earlier in the season would keep momentum rolling. The Larks are enjoying what is shaping up to be the best campaign in the club’s history. Corinthian, meanwhile, are creeping towards safety — but with the leakiest defence in the division, a result here would be tough to gain but be a massive boost.
Hythe Town’s situation is getting desperate. Second bottom, winless in 13, and level on points and goal difference with bottom side Stansfeld, every game now feels like a final. They’re six points from safety and head to a Snodland Town side still eyeing the play-offs. Snodland are in a rare wobble — no wins in four, last success coming before Christmas — but this still looks a daunting assignment for a Hythe team badly in need of something, anything.
Bottom of the table, lowest scorers in the division, and eight games without a win — Stansfeld are running out of time. Tunbridge Wells arrive in Eltham sitting 14th but just seven points off the play-offs, which tells you everything about how tight things are. If Wells harbour any late ambitions, this is the kind of game they simply have to win. For Stansfeld, it’s bordering on must-not-lose.
A huge six-pointer just above the drop zone. Chislehurst Glebe’s survival hopes have been transformed by back-to-back wins, dragging them clear of immediate danger and injecting belief. Faversham Strike Force, by contrast, are sliding — eight games without a win and suddenly looking over their shoulder. This one has tension written all over it.
Five games. Title pressure, play-off races, and relegation fear all rolled into one afternoon. Reduced fixture list — maximum drama.
