Punjab United 5-0 Hythe Town
Thursday night gave the play-off race another twist — and Punjab United made sure they took full advantage.
A dominant 5-0 win over Hythe Town sees them climb into fourth place with one game to go, and now puts them firmly in control of their own destiny. Harry Ottaway struck early (4’) and added another just after the break (46’), with Wayne Bushell (33’), Lea Dawson (73’) and Ashley Probets (82’) completing a comprehensive performance.
For Hythe, it brings their season to a close, finishing bottom and relegated — a tough campaign that never really found momentum.
For Punjab, though, it’s simple now: avoid defeat at Snodland Town on the final day, and their play-off place is secured. After weeks of chasing, they’ve given themselves the perfect chance to finish the job.
