Deres begin 2021/22 Squad announcements

Erith & Belvedere have begun the introduction to their 2021/22 Premier Division squad.

Danny Murphy and Marlon Patterson are looking to put together a squad capable of competing at the top end of the Premier Division and if their early signings are anything to go by, they will certainly be able to do just that.

First in is central midfielder Joe Bingham. The former Sevenoaks Town man has a wealth of experience and is a natural leader.

Dave Martin follows Joe through the entrance door at Park View Road. The well travelled midfielder can count Whitehawk, Bromley and Margate as former clubs while he also had a taste of league football at Millwall and Crystal Palace.

Retained from last year is Defender Reece Barrett. Reece made 15 appearances in the 17 games played by Erith & Belvedere last season, and was part of the 2018/19 double cup and league promotion winning Deres team.

Dean McDonald has joined for the 2021/22 season. Dean started his career at Ipswich Town before moving onto Gillingham FC and he boasts a great non league football playing career.

Erith & Belvedere have also welcomed two exciting additions in the Allassani Brothers! The returning Drew and younger brother Keanan. are both exciting young players with a great future ahead.

Another player committed to The Dere’s for 2021/22 is experienced and popular central defender Rob Curtis. Rob is closing in on 100 appearances for the Club so expect some more of those towering back post headers this year.

Rilwan Anibaba is back for another season between the sticks. The popular goalie is a crowd favourite with his modern but risky style of playing out with his feet.

The club have also confirmed that ex-Bradford, Barnet and Mansfield striker Luke Medley has signed for the new season. His non league career includes spells at Cray Wanderers, Greenwich Borough, Sheppey United and Lordswood so he brings a wealth of experience to a squad looking like real contenders in this Division.

The latest announcement is that Samuel Ogunseye has joined The Deres. Striker Samuel played for Haywards Heath Town last season.

Calum Willock is the latest to sign for the 2021/22 season. In his career he played in each of the top seven levels of English football playing in the Premiership for Fulham. He was part of the Cray Valley team that reached the Vase Final in 2019.

More announcements are due soon so keep a close eye on the club’s Twitter account so as not to miss out.
