6th July – Pre season friendly round-up

Tuesday night gave us eight pre-season friendlies involving SCEFL Clubs as preparations continue to head towards the start of the 2021/22 campaign.

Bermondey Town stepped in at short notice to play against Groundsharers Fisher with our Premier Division side running away as comfortable 7-0 winners.

Lee Weemes scored a hat-trick, Dennis Asante netted twice and Fred Agyemang and Christian Udo got the others.

Sam Wilson also scored a hat-trick for Deal Town as they comfortably defeated New Romney 5-0 in their second pre-season friendly at the Charles Ground tonight. Ben Chapman and Jack Paxman scored the other Hoops’ goals.

Kennington visited old friends Stansfeld and picked up a solid 4-2 victory.

Gary Lockyer’s header added to first half goals from Callum Peck (2) & Liam Middleton. Stansfeld’s second half replies included one from the penalty spot.

Sutton Athletic hosted Erith Town in a hastily arranged fixture.

The Dockers win the game 3-1 with Michael Power and Harry Gamble among the scorers for the visitors.

Former Canterbury City striker Dean Grant got the only goal of the game as Herne Bay edged out Welling Town 1-0, which was the same scoreline by which Tunbridge Wells won at Forest Hill Park.

Steven Ratcliffe scored a beauty as Punjab United drew 2-2 at home to VCD Athletic.

A decent performance taking a 1-0 lead, then finding a late equaliser to share the result. Hard work is always the key motivation in PSFs. Show you have that, & make your opponent match your desire. Proud of the squad, and all the support – Jindi Banwait

And last but not least, it was raining goals at the Lindsey Field as Lydd Town beat Deal Town Rangers 8-2.

There are further friendly fixtures for our SCEFL teams on Thursday and Friday night before a full schedule again on Saturday.
