Star Meadow Opening Day

 

Star Meadow Sports Complex have confirmed that on Saturday 18 February they will be hosting a community day to celebrate the opening of their stunning new pitch.

The day will see the Hollands & Blair first team make their long-awaited return to ME7 with the visit of Deal Town. In addition, various Soccer Elite FA and Hollands & Blair sides will be in action in the morning.

After the first team game, both Jamie E and DJ SBB will be performing live in the bar.

After a couple of delays thanks to the freezing temperatures in December and January, the installation of the new artificial pitch is set to be completed today (Tuesday 24), withย the relevant authorities arriving to test and sign off the pitch tomorrow (Wednesday 25). Some final work is also required on the site before the pitch can be opened; namely the installation of some more fencing and general tidying up of the facility and the surrounding areas.

Work is also continuing on re-installing the seated spectator areas, which are will be placed on the south and east sides of the facility.
