Chislehurst Glebe FC – A History
Founded in 1995 as Glebe Globetrotters by chairman Rocky McMillan and his wife Grace, the club began with a single Under-8 team in West Wickham. Over the following years, Glebe established itself as one of Kent’s leading youth football clubs, winning numerous honours including 10 London County Cups.
The club’s continued growth led to the formation of a senior side in 2013, joining the Kent Invicta League. Success came quickly, with Glebe winning both the Kent Invicta League Cup and London Senior Trophy before being crowned SCEFL First Division Champions in 2016/17 to secure promotion to the Premier Division.
A major milestone came in 2014 when the club secured a long-term lease at Foxbury, creating a permanent home after years of groundsharing. Supported by investment from the Football Stadia Improvement Fund, the site has developed into an impressive community sports complex featuring multiple pitches, floodlit training facilities, a gym, clubhouse and thriving youth section.
On the pitch, Glebe has continued to establish itself at Step 5, achieving its highest league finish of third in both 2021/22 and 2023/24, with the latter ending in a play-off semi-final defeat. Following the 2024/25 season, the club entered an exciting new era, completing the installation of a state-of-the-art 3G playing surface and officially rebranding as Chislehurst Glebe FC, reflecting its strong links with the local community.
After a season of transition in 2025/26, Frankie Sawyer takes charge of the first team for the 2026/27 campaign as Chislehurst Glebe continues its ambition of competing at the highest possible level while remaining firmly rooted in community football.
