A Brief History of Snodland Town Football Club
Football has been played in Snodland since the early 1900s, with the club enjoying many successful years in the Maidstone League, where it won multiple Premier Division titles as well as the prestigious Kent Junior Cup.
The club joined the Kent County League in 1992 and enjoyed a steady rise through the divisions, securing promotion to the Premier Division before being crowned Kent County League Champions in 1999/2000. Snodland remained a competitive force at that level for more than two decades.
A significant milestone came in 2012 when the club’s senior and youth sections merged to form Snodland Town Football Club, creating a true community club with a clear pathway from youth football through to the first team. Investment in the club’s facilities, including floodlights, spectator stands and perimeter fencing, paved the way for promotion to the Southern Counties East Football League First Division in 2016.
The club quickly established itself at Step 6, making its FA Vase debut in 2017 before becoming regular promotion contenders. Under Luke Wallond, Snodland reached the First Division play-offs in 2021/22 before going one better the following season, winning the SCEFL First Division title and securing promotion to the Premier Division.
The club adapted well to life at Step 5 with an eighth-place finish in 2023/24. Although relegation followed in 2024/25, the season also delivered one of the greatest moments in the club’s history as Snodland defeated SE Dons 5-0 in front of more than 1,500 spectators to lift the SCEFL Challenge Cup. A 12th-place finish followed in 2025/26.
A new chapter begins in 2026/27 with Connor Dymond taking charge as first team manager. Backed by one of the strongest youth structures in the area, Snodland Town continues to grow as an ambitious community club with its sights firmly set on returning to the Premier Division.
