Follow A249 onto the Island and head towards Sheerness. At the first set of traffic lights turn right onto the A250. You will go through a set of lights between the Aviator Pub and the BP garage and carry on up the slight hill for approximately half a mile. Our turning is on the left directly opposite the St Peters church or St Peters Close. As you take this left turn, we are approximately 200 yards down the lane on your left.
Sheppey Sports History
Originally founded in 1919 and established as a senior club in 1946, Sheppey Sports has enjoyed a long and proud history within Kent football.
The present club reformed in 1974 as Reeds International before later competing as APM, winning the Kent County League Western Premier Division titles in both 1987/88 and 1990/91. In 2009, the club became APM Contrast following a major sponsorship agreement with local businessman Dave Dadson of Contrast South East.
Based for many years at K Sports Cobdown, the club expanded beyond senior football during the 2013/14 season with the introduction of a youth section. A year later, an amalgamation with Holtwood Rangers saw the youth setup grow significantly, strengthening the club’s presence across Kent football. The club subsequently adopted the name K Sports FC, marking the start of a new chapter.
Promotion to the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division was achieved in 2017/18 after a second-place finish in Division One, before an impressive 12th-place finish at Step 5 the following season. Like many clubs, progress was interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic, with the 2019/20 and 2020/21 campaigns declared null and void. A 17th-place finish followed in 2021/22 before relegation back to the First Division the following season.
Ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, the club entered a new era by rebranding as Sheppey Sports under new ownership. Groundsharing with Sheppey United, George and Ian Batten guided Sports to a fifth-place finish and the First Division Play-Offs, where they were beaten by eventual winners Soul Tower Hamlets.
Following the Batten brothers’ departure to Sheppey United in the summer of 2025, Ross Wiles and Shaun Monahan took charge and led the club to a respectable ninth-place finish in 2025/26. The pair remain at the helm for the 2026/27 season, with Sheppey Sports also introducing an Under-23 side into the SCEFL Development League as the club continues to grow.
