Non-League Day delivered exactly what was promised — goals, drama, and a few results that could seriously shift the picture.
At the top, SE Dons sent out a brutal reminder of their dominance with a 7-0 demolition of Chessington & Hook. No nerves, no slip-ups — just a statement win. AFC Greenwich Borough keep the pressure firmly on with a 2-1 victory over Halls AFC, making it five straight wins and ensuring the title race is very much alive.
Rochester United steadied themselves at the perfect time, winning 2-1 at FC Elmstead to halt their wobble and keep themselves firmly in the promotion hunt. Lordswood also strengthened their play-off push with a solid 2-1 win at Bridon Ropes.
The surprise came at Croydon, where their ten-game unbeaten run couldn’t be extended to eleven as Lewisham Borough battled to a 1-1 draw — a valuable point in their fight for survival.
If there was a result of the day contender, Greenways made it impossible to ignore, smashing Banstead Athletic 7-1 to keep their outside play-off hopes alive in emphatic fashion.
At the bottom, it was mixed fortunes. Lydd Town picked up an excellent 4-2 win at Tooting Bec, while Welling Town’s 1-1 draw with Staplehurst Monarchs does little to ease their growing relegation fears.
Plenty of goals, a few shocks, and absolutely no let-up — just how this division likes it.
