Waterlogged pitches claimed a couple of fixtures on Saturday, but where games did beat the elements, there was no shortage of drama — and goals. Two five-star performances stole the headlines and may well have defined the title race.

This is now Whitstable Town’s title to lose.

A ruthless 5–0 dismantling of third-placed Rusthall stretched the Oysters’ unbeaten league run to 20 games and opened up a commanding 14-point lead at the top.

Javaun Splatt (15’, 45+2’) and Harvey Kedwell (21’, 58’) both struck twice, with Bradley Schafer (56’) adding further gloss in a devastating 15-minute spell that blew Rusthall away.

For the visitors, it’s back-to-back defeats and four losses in six. The focus now shifts from chasing the leaders to securing that play-off spot.

If Whitstable’s win shook the title race, Glebe’s did the same to the second place race.

Jamie Philpot was simply unstoppable, netting a sensational hat-trick (60’, 88’, 90’) as Glebe ran riot in the second half. Khavarn Williams (72’) and a stoppage-time fifth completed the rout after Larkfield had led early on.

Second-placed Larkfield were blown away after the break, and suddenly the chasing pack sense opportunity.

Fisher are part of that chasing pack and are surging at exactly the right time. A dominant second-half display saw them run out 4–1 winners at Stansfeld, extending their unbeaten run to six league matches.

Alex Kozak (50’), Lorenzo Duncan (55’, 70’) and Festos Kamara (84’) did the damage, despite Sha’mar Lawson seeing red moments after the opener.

Fisher climb to seventh — just one point off the play-offs.

Stansfeld, meanwhile, are now 11 without a win and remain nine points from safety.

Thomas Borders delivered a clinical hat-trick (15’, 49’, 88’) as Erith & Belvedere eased past basement side Hythe Town.

The Deres rise to sixth and are firmly in the play-off conversation.

Hythe’s situation grows increasingly bleak — now 16 without a win and still nine points from safety despite recent managerial changes.

Holmesdale reignited their top-five hopes with victory over Kennington.

Ali Mansaray (9’) and Ramone Lewis (37’) put Dale in control before Kimsley Gatakata (18’) briefly levelled for the visitors. Eighth place doesn’t look so bad all of a sudden.

Corinthian made it back-to-back wins and effectively ended any lingering relegation concerns with victory at Sutton.

Jamie Billings (23’) and Oscar Housego (45+1’ pen) put the Hoops in charge. Sutton pulled one back deep into stoppage time through Enoch Muwonge (90+9’), but it was too late.

The defeat dents Sutton’s play-off ambitions as they slip to 10th.

Snodland Town v Bearsted and Tunbridge Wells v Hollands & Blair were postponed due to waterlogged pitches.

Seven games played. Twenty-one goals scored. A 14-point lead at the summit.

Valentine’s Day delivered heartbreak for some — but for Whitstable Town, it delivered something that looks a lot like destiny.
