Roy Benton

 

It is with great sadness that we have to announce the death of Bearsted Secretary, Roy Benton.

He passed away in hospital yesterday following a short illness.

Roy will be remembered in particular for his devotion to Bearsted Football Club where he was a great servant over many years and will be sorely missed by the all.

As a league we send our condolences to his family, friends and all at Bearsted Football Club, who now have a huge gap to fill.

He served as a member of the old SCEFL management committee and also worked with the KCFA and the Kent County League. He was, in fact, a founder member of the Kent Invicta League Management Committee.

On Saturday, we would like all clubs to either have a minute’s applause or silence, to remember Roy and what he has contributed to football over his life.

Funeral details will be shared when they are received.
