Bridon Ropes Appoint Uche Ibemere as New First Team Manager
Bridon Ropes have confirmed the appointment of Uche Ibemere as their new First Team Manager, with immediate effect.
Ibemere returns to Meridian Sports and Social Club having previously worked within the Bridon Ropes setup, bringing with him a strong understanding of the club’s culture, playing staff and the demands of football at this level. His appointment follows a detailed review process, with the club opting for familiarity and stability as they look to reset for the second half of the season.
The club believe Ibemere is well placed to guide the squad forward and help drive an upturn in results as they look to climb the table during the remainder of the campaign.
Ibemere will take charge of his first training session on Wednesday and is set to oversee his first match this Saturday, 24 January, when Bridon Ropes host Croydon FC in a home league fixture.
Club Chairman Mick Puszyk welcomed the appointment, saying:
“Uche knows this football club well and understands both the demands of the league and the challenges we face at this stage of the season. We felt it was important to appoint someone who could provide immediate stability, clarity, and leadership. Uche is a respected figure within the club and a safe pair of hands, and we are confident he can help drive improved performances and results in the months ahead.”
Ibemere replaces Lee Roots, who stepped down from his role earlier this month following a 3–0 home defeat to FC Elmstead. Roots’ departure brought to an end a two-year spell in charge, during which he oversaw more than 100 matches and played a key role in the club’s on- and off-field development.
Bridon Ropes thanked all applicants for their interest in the role and have asked supporters to join them in welcoming Ibemere back to the club.
