Monday 30th March
FIRST DIVISION
Chessington & Hook 0-3 Lordswood
SC Thamesmead 2-0 AFC Greenwich Borough
Monday night proved decisive at both ends of the First Division — and threw in a twist at the top for good measure.
Lordswood took a huge step towards securing their play-off place with a clinical 3-0 win at Chessington & Hook. After a tense first half, Freeman Rogers broke the deadlock just after the restart, and once that opener went in, the visitors never looked back. Late strikes from Jonathan Harris and Thomas Davey put the result beyond doubt, sealing three massive points that tighten their grip on fifth and leave Chessington staring down the barrel with time rapidly running out.
But the real shock came at SC Thamesmead, where AFC Greenwich Borough’s title charge took a hit. Despite going into the game with top spot in their sights, Borough were undone by a determined Thamesmead side. Joseph Ikuesan struck early to give the hosts the perfect start, and Daniel Palfrey made sure of it in the second half with a well-taken second.
It’s a result that breathes new life into the relegation battle while throwing a spanner firmly into the title race — just when it looked like Greenwich Borough might be ready to take control.
