The final midweek of the season is here – and somehow, there’s still plenty on the line at both ends.

It’s already kicked off with a twist. Chessington & Hook’s 3-0 win over Bridon Ropes on Monday night has lifted them off the bottom for the first time since Week 7. Goals from John Fouracre (32’), Tobe Uzor (50’) and Rushaar Samuel-Smikle (71’) have given them a real shot at avoiding last place – now taken by Welling Town.

Banstead Athletic continued their strong finish with a 1-0 win over Rochester United, Sam Haughey’s early strike (14’) proving the difference. With safety already secured, Banstead are ending the season with real momentum. For Rochester, it’s another flat result at the wrong time – their play-off place is safe, but the form heading into it is far from convincing.

Over at Greenways, Staplehurst Monarchs produced a commanding 3-0 victory to underline their impressive end to the campaign. Bradley Webb (32’) set them on their way before Oliver Lankshear (61’) doubled the lead, and Sam Sharp wrapped it up from the spot (67’). It’s a statement win that lifts Staplehurst further up the table, while Greenways’ late push tails off.

AFC Greenwich Borough stormed to a dominant 6-1 win at Chessington & Hook to move top of the table with just one game remaining. Abel Vendrells led the charge with a hat-trick (17’, 30’, 50’), with Elliott Carey (23’) adding another before Oghosa Williams struck twice late on (56’, 90+4’) to complete a ruthless performance.

Chessington & Hook briefly threatened through Tobe Uzor (36’), but were ultimately overwhelmed on the night.

The result sees Greenwich Borough take control of the title race at the perfect moment. With one game to go, it’s now theirs to lose.

At the other end, despite the heavy defeat, Chessington’s earlier win in the week means the battle to avoid bottom spot is still alive heading into the final round.

One game left.
Title on the line.
No second chances now.
