Premier Division

TONY RUSSELL – AFC Greenwich Borough

First Division

ANDY CRUSH – Hythe Town

 

The first SCEFL Manager of the Month awards of the 2026/27 season have been decided, with AFC Greenwich Borough boss Tony Russell and Hythe Town manager Andy Crush taking the August honours.

Both managers have made impressive starts to the new campaign, with Russell guiding newly-promoted Greenwich Borough to the top of the Premier Division and Crush overseeing a perfect opening month for Hythe in the First Division.

PREMIER DIVISION

TONY RUSSELL – AFC GREENWICH BOROUGH

Life at Step 5 could hardly have started much better for Tony Russell and AFC Greenwich Borough.

The newly-promoted side went through August unbeaten in the Premier Division, collecting three wins and a draw from their opening four league matches.

Victories against Erith & Belvedere, Faversham Strike Force and Petts Wood & Holmesdale were accompanied by a draw away at Beckenham Town, helping Borough establish themselves at the top of the early-season table.

Their impressive start has not been restricted to league action either.

Russell’s side also enjoyed an excellent August in the Emirates FA Cup, winning away at Broadbridge Heath and Cray Valley PM. Their cup adventure has since continued into September with a superb victory at Sittingbourne. Additionally Greenwich Borough were 3-1 victors against Sheerwater in the first stage of the the FA Vase.

Top of the Premier Division and still going strong in the FA Cup – it has been quite an introduction to Step 5 for Russell and his side.

FIRST DIVISION

ANDY CRUSH – HYTHE TOWN

There was no separating Hythe Town from a 100 per cent record during August – despite Andy Crush’s side not having the luxury of a single home league fixture.

Hythe played three First Division matches during the month and won all three, with every victory coming on the road.

Their campaign began with victory at Halls before further away wins against Bridon Ropes and Lydd Town completed a flawless month.

Crush is another manager new to the SCEFL this season and has wasted little time making his mark following Hythe’s arrival in the First Division.

Three games. Three away trips. Three wins.
