Well, we know Corinthian have been drawn at home to Leighton Town in the Quarter Finals of the FA Vase but who exactly are the visitors and what sort of threat will they bring to our SCEFL side?
Here we take a closer look at the side from the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division….
Leighton Town, formerly known as Leighton United, were formed in 1885 and were founder members of their current league in 1922. The Club flitted through different variations of that local league through the years before being promoted to the Isthmian League in 1992. Relegation in 2012 and again in 2016 has now seen them return to the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division at Step 5 where they are looking to regroup and kick on again in the coming seasons.
The club are based in Leighton Buzzard, which is between Luton and Milton Keynes and not too far from the M1 giving them a reasonable journey down at the end of the month.
Current Management Team of Joe Sweeney and Paul Copson have been with the side for 15 months led them to an 11th placed finish last season.
They are currently in 12th this time around but with plenty of games in hand on those above.
The season started badly for the Club as they lost the first 7 of the first 8 games in the league! They are unbeaten since then though so are clearly in some good form.
The top Leighton goalscorer this season is Danny Webb who has netted 29 times in 39 games so far. Next is Ashton Campbell who has scored 15 from 30 in all competitions.
