Welling Town and Manager part ways

Welling Town have announced that Manager Louis Dean and his backroom team have left the club.

The Premier Division new boys have issued a statement on the Club Website stating that following promotion, they have been unable to reach an agreement on a sensible, sustainable budget moving forwards and as a result Louis Dean, Ryan Pacey, Rob Dillon and Marc Powell will leave Bayliss Avenue.

“We have progressed from a glorified Sunday pub side to the SCEFL Premier Division in three seasons, which we’re fairly confident is unique, and that is to the credit of players and management, past and present, and whilst the desire to keep pushing upwards is of course there, it is also limited in the short term by the self-inflicted successes we have had in those three seasons.”

Welling have progressed from a Sunday side to a SCEFL Premier side within three years and have had to overcome many hurdles in that short time. So far they have always found a way of quickly getting over their setbacks and now they need to do the same again with the season kicking off in just one month.
