FA Vase Third Round

Saturday 30th November

FA Vase Third Round

Chatham Town 1-0 Welling Town

Corinthian 2-1 Ascot United

Deal Town 2-0 Southall

Glebe 1-0 Newhaven

On another great day for the SCEFL in the FA Vase four of our sides have made it through to the final 32 of the competition as another trip to Wembley draws ever closer.
Welling Town were the only team to miss out today as their excellent debut season in the Vase ended at Round Three with a narrow 1-0 loss to Chatham Town. In a tight game it was Paul Vines that nodded home the only goal and now it will be the Chats who are gathered around the Radio on Monday lunchtime.
Corinthian looked to have the toughest tie on paper as the hotly fancied Ascot United were the visitors to Longfield for their match-up. The Hoops started well though, scored early and gained a very good victory that will get others talking about their chances of walking down towards the Arch in April. Oscar Housego and Jack Mahoney were the scorers for Corinthian in a 2-1 win.
Connor Coyne was the star for Deal Town as his brace got the locals reminiscing of the glory days of 20 years ago. A solid performance throughout never gave Southall a chance and Deal can now eagerly await to see who they will get in Round Four.
Glebe are also in the hat after they sent Newhaven away from Foxbury defeated. Jamie Philpot’s second half effort was all it took to edge out the visitors and claim the deserved win.

The Draw for the next round will be on Talksport on Monday Lunchtime.
