Season 2019-20 – Beckenham Town

SCEFL Beckenham Town

SCEFL Beckenham Town

The season may have come to an sudden end and all results expunged but games did take place and plenty of teams had a year to remember. Here we look back at some of the sides that had an impressive Premier Division campaign.

Beckenham Town

At the time of the premature end to the season Beckenham Town sat proudly at the summit of the Premier Division table, a position they had held for a majority of the campaign. Their defensive record was the best in the League and without a dominant goalscorer they instead shared scoring responsibilities around their very talented team.

Becks averaged 2.22 points per game this campaign which, had it continued through the scheduled 36 games, would have see them pick up 80 points in total. That would have seen them finish in the top 2 for sure and even if they were just denied the title that PPG average was also good enough for automatic promotion for being one of the top runners-up in the country.

Summary

The season came to a halt far too early for Beckenham Town as every day they were getting closer to sealing promotion to the Division above. A winning run of 4 games without conceding finished their campaign showing that they were taking their top form into the business end of the year.
Despite not being rearded for their efforts you cannot take away the fact that this was an excellent season for the club.
