With others in FA Cup action this weekend and ahead of a heavy Bank Holiday fixture list there were just a few games across the two SCEFL Divisions today.
Corinthian now have a two point cushion at the top after comfortably seeing of Punjab United 4-1 at Gay Dawn Farm. Oscar Housego opened the scoring before Jack Mahoney, Luke Tanner and Jack Hollands joined the party. Laurent Hamici’s second half penalty was a mere consolation effort for bootom placed Punjab.
Hollands & Blair are now in second place after narrowly beating Lordswood at Star Meadow. A Harry Goodger penalty split the sides causing Lordswood to fall to League defeat for the first time this campaign.
Lydd Town came from behind at home to Meridian VP to win their first points of the season and move off the bottom of the table. After falling behind to a Tim Moffatt strike the hosts were impressive in the second half, netting through Tom Barton and Pat Kingwell to get the much needed win.
Ruthless Kennington moved up to second place with an impressive 5-1 win at Rochester United. The visitors dominated the first half racking up four goals before the Spartans were able to tighten matters and prevent the scoreline getting any worse. Gary Clarke and Tom Scorer hit doubles for the ‘Ton’ with Craig Calvert getting the other while Callum Peck claimed the consolation goal for the hosts.
Stansfeld scored first and last as they shared the points with Snodland Town at Foxbury. The two sides have identical form runs of WLLD as they sit in the middle of the Frst Division table.
