SCEFL Premier Division
With Tunbridge Wells v Canterbury City lost to the elements we were left with just six Premier Division games as the Cup competitions dominated today’s preceedings.
We did however get plenty of entertainment and talking points from our reduced offering as the leaders were held to a goalless draw and others went goal crazy to gain places in the table.
Beckenham Town will probably see it as points dropped but they remain clear at the top following today’s 0-0 draw at Punjab United. It could have been better for Becks but a first half missed penalty was as good as it got as the defences won the day at the Manak Stadium.
Hollands & Blair moved back into the mix thanks to a 4-1 home win over AFC Croydon, Sam Welch, Caleb Bearman-Dyce, Stuart West and Louis Valencia all scored for Blair as they handed the Rams a 3rd consecutive league loss. K Sports were the top scorers of the day in this Division as they cruised past a new look Erith & Belvedere 7-0 at Cobdown. Desperate to earn a ‘Team of the Week’ place Matt Gething hit a hat-trick with Alex Arif, Jack Bray, James Alderman and Connor Pring also finding the target on a good afternoon for the 11th placed Paperboys.
Welling Town won for the first time since beating the same opposition in November as they returned from Crowborough Athletic as 4-0 winners. The Boots are now back in the top half with their goals coming from Joel Thompson Ryan Mahal, Malik Ouani and Jordan Sandiford.
Fisher made it back-to-back wins after edging past Lordswood 2-1 at Martyn Grove. Greg Akpele and Darnel Coker scored with the visitors pulling one back through Luke Medley just before the break. Fisher held on though and their quickly earned 6 points sees them in 17th place.
Erith Town climbed into 13th place after a 2-0 win at home to Glebe. Two first half Fred Obasa goals were enough for the Dockers to earn all 3 points against his former side.
