Sea Pioneer Premier Division
With the weather removing Corinthian v Chatham Town and Canterbury City v Welling Town from today’s fixture list we were left with just the 8 games in the SCEFL Premier Division.
In Otham we had an early start for Bearsted’s game with Beckenham Town and we also got a surprise result with the hosts coming from behind to hand Becks just the third defeat of their league season. Luke Rooney had given the visitors a second half lead from the spot before James Bessey-Saldanha levelled David Baranowski got the winner.
Sheppey United are now in 3rd place in the table after they claimed themselves a comfortable 5-0 win at home to Erith & Belvedere. Rob Denness, Laurent Hamici, Harrison Carnegie and Hicham Akhazzan all netted as the Ites made it 6 league wins in a row.
Glebe were the top scorers of the day as they hit Greenwich Borough for six in an impressive display at Foxbury. Tobi Ajala and Stacy Long both grabbed a brace as the Foxes moved up into 7th place.
Tunbridge Wells missed the chance to keep the heat on the top four after coming off second best at Martyn Grove. Jai McKinley gave Lordswood a first half lead before a 72nd minute cracker from Alex Brefo sealed the game. Hollands & Blair capitalised on the Wells loss by taking their 5th place thanks to a 3-1 win at Punjab United. Connor Hefferan found the net inbetween a Ben Brown double with a Rohan Badbhagi consolation counting for little.
AFC Croydon ended a small losing run when sending Erith Town away from the Mayfield Stadium empty handed. Janichell Santos scored early for the Rams with Jake Rose getting the other in a much needed 2-0 win.
Josh Adejokun was the star for Fisher as he scored the only goal in their game at home to Deal Town. The wins puts the Fish in 15th place while Deal drop down to 11th.
Crowborough Athletic left it late but got the win in a tight home game against K Sports. Matt Gething had given the Paperboys the lead but the hosts levelled through Tom Pearson before Andrew Dalhouse claimed a last minute winner.
