Rose hoping to bloom at Sheppey

Sheppey United have announced the signing of attacking midfielder Jake Rose.

Jake played in the friendly against Cray Wanderers and beforehand the Sheppey website caught up with him for a quick chat.

Can you give a rundown of your playing career?

Came through AFC Wimbledon academy- age 17 made my 1st team debut played for a further 3 years. I then went abroad to Finland – OPS FC, Dulwich Hamlet FC, Hampton & Richmond FC, Cray Valley and Beckenham Town last year.

What was the deciding factor in you joining the Ites? Talk us though how the moved happened?

I was speaking with Jezza and he mentioned they had a good set up and wanted to win the league. Came to training and I thought it was a good standard and the professionalism is what sold it for me.

What was your impression of the pitch, stadium and fans?

For the level the pitch is fantastic and can’t wait to play some quality football on it. I haven’t had the pleasure of playing a first team game as of yet, but if the first pre-season friendly is anything to go by then I can’t wait for the season to start. Fans turned up in numbers for a trial/friendly game so should be a good season ahead.

What strengths do you have that you can bring to the team?

I believe I can bring a great work ethic and have a great passing ability and control of the ball so hopefully I can bring goals and assists as well as work ethic.

What would you say is your best position on the pitch?

I can play a variety of roles… mostly attacking! CM. ATM or just off the striker.

Do you have a message for the SUFC supporters?

Look forward to building a positive relationship and scoring some goals for you!

Sheppey have signed a whole host of players during the close season including Ritchie Hamill, Nodi Boborumodov, Greg Benbow, Ola Williams, Jez Hammond, Steven Ita, Harrison Carnegie, Rob Denness, Conrad Lee, Ben Davisson, Mickey Phillips and Josh Pelling all jumping aboard the Ites Express.
