Barry Boxall has been unveiled as the new Assistant Manager and Head Coach of AFC Croydon Athletic.
He will work alongside Kevin Rayner as the pair continues to build for the new season that gets under way in September.
Boxall, a UEFA ‘A’ Qualified coach, has plenty of coaching experience having spent 15 years working at Academies for Arsenal, Fulham and Southampton. He most recently spent time coaching with Charlton Athletic foundation phase.
Kevin Rayner was delighted with the appointment. “In Barry Boxall we have added real quality to the management team ahead of the new season. We are very keen to ensure that we hit the ground running in the new season.”
The squad continues to be honed and the club will look to announce signings over the next couple of weeks. The coaches are delighted with the hard work shown by players so far and will look for that to continue into the pre-season friendlies that will begin in August.
Rayner has also been given another role at the club. He has been invited to join the board although he will continue his role as first team manager. His experience in football is regarded as invaluable to the club and his long association with the club apart from his time as Manager demonstrates his commitment that will help it grown in the future.
