Here is how the SCEFL website reported on today’s action…

Rochester United 2-4 Erith Town – Erith Town got back to winning ways with this victory at bottom placed Rochester United. Stedman Callender scored twice in the first half hour with Mayowa Olufeka making it 3-0 early in the Second Half. The hosts then staged a comeback as goals from Freeman Rogers and Dan Nash reduced the deficit to one with 15 to go. Erith were not to be denied though and a superb strike from Andres Tobon late on sealed the win. The victory will see the visitors looking up rather than down now as they can finish no lower than their current 17th place. Rochester were already commited to being the basement boys and now will see out the Season with the visits of Whitstable Town and Crowborough.

Rusthall 2-2 Lordswood – Rusthall came from behind to earn a point after a in a game of two halves at the Jockey Farm. Jordan Wells opened the scoring for the hosts on 17 minutes with James Huggins doubling that lead shortly after. It stayed that way until just after the hour mark when quickfire goals from Dan Mitchell and Dan Powell earned the Rustics a much needed point. Those points dropped for Lordswood may well end their hopes of a top 6 finish.

Whitstable Town 3-0 AFC Croydon Ath – Whitstable kept their title hopes alive with this comfortable victory at home to AFC Croydon. Tom Bryant got the hosts off to the perfect start with his early goal before the visitors were reduced to 10 men after just 20 minutes. Once Rob Gillman had made it 2-0 on the half hour mark this game was as good as done. To give the Rams credit they held on well and only conceded once more, when Dan Williams hit the third on 63 minutes. All eyes now switch to the Sevenoaks game at Corinthian tonight and any slip up for the Leaders there will be greatly received by the Oystermen. AFC Croydon have now seen their hopes of a top half finish pretty much vanish.

Gravesham Borough 5-1 Kent Football Utd – The hosts made it 4 wins on the spin as they dealt KFU a comprehensive defeat. There was only one goal in the First Half and Dimi Kapsokostas got it but in the Second Half we saw plenty of goalmouth action. 1-0 became 4-0 in a crazy 6 minute spell around the hour mark. Nick Nowotny hit two with Declan Wale getting the other to quickly decide this one as a contest. Ahmed Deen did manage to pull one back but a late Trey Williams finish gave the the hosts an impressive win. The loss damages the visitors chances of a top 5 finish.

Lewisham Borough 2-4 Erith & Belvedere – The Deres came from behind to win at Lewisham in a real game of two halves. Dominic Odunsanya had an eventful game and he kick-started the scoring when putting through his own net on 40 minutes. Just before the break it got better for the hosts when Nana Sarpong doubled their lead giving them every chance of grabbing a rare point or three. Odunsanya had other ideas though and he recovered from his earlier disappointment to score on 51, 63 and 82 minutes to claim a match winning hat-trick. Tahjae Anderson made it 4 at the death to increase the losing run of Lewisham to 18 games. Erith & Belvedere now have it in their own hands to go on and nick 4th place.

Stansfeld 0-2 K Sports – The visitors did not let off the field distractions affect them as they put on a professional performance to take the points at Foxbury Avenue. Matt Gething continued his impressive recent scoring form when giving the Paperboys the lead on 8 minutes. Stansfeld battled well and the game was still up for grabs until late in the game when Bailey Pearce capitalised on a weak backpass to lob the keeper and score the goal that sealed the victory. The three points has seen them overhaul Punjab United at the top but placings will be confirmed in due course (See below). Whatever does occur next K Sports have had a fantastic Season and will be a great addition to the Premier Division next term.
