It was a busy Easter Monday in the SCEFL with a total of 19 games, and as usual plenty of goals.
Cray Valley were top scorers in the Premier Division with Brad Potter among the scorers in a 5-0 home win against relegated Croydon. Corinthian’s defeat to Fisher today severely damages their title hopes and now Cray Valley just need to win their final game to finish top and gain promotion.
Elswhere, Dan Bradshaw scored a double in a win for Sheppey United and Erith Town were 4-2 winners at home to Tunbridge Wells.
In the First Division, Welling Town closed in on the title with a 4-0 win against Meridian VP, where Harvey Brand scored twice. Title rivals Erith & Belvedere beat Sutton Athletic 3-1 while Kennington beat Greenways 2-1, with Gary Clarke once again finding the net.
There were plenty of goals in the other games with KFU hitting 5 at Phoenix Sports Reserves and Snodland Town and Lydd Town sharing the points in a 6-goal thriller at Potyn’s Field.

The top 2 both won today, Ashford by 4-0 at Croydon and the Crows by 1-0 at home to Beckenham Town so it all comes down to the final games on Saturday 29th.
Ashford United and Crowborough Athletic both have 89 points with 1 game each to play. Ashford goal difference is +73 while the Crows is +60. If they both win their final games, and the Crows don’t win by 14 more goals than the Nuts and Bolts, the title will be going to Homelands and Ashford United. If either slips up however…
At the other end things are a bit clearer with Fisher and Erith & Belvedere left to fight for 19th place – and there is just a point between them. Beckenham Town’s superior goal difference should keep them out of the scrap.
Chatham Town have finished 3rd bottom of the Isthmian League 1st Division South and are facing relegation to The SCEFL but this is in the hands of the FA Leagues Committee and depends on any clubs at step 4 and above falling out of football or seeking voluntary relegation elsewhere. If Chatham do come down then both Fisher and E&B; will be relegated. If they don’t and no other team is relegated to SCEFL then just one of Fisher or E&B; will go down.
No such conundrums in the 1st Division. Glebe and Rusthall will both be Premier Division clubs next season and Orpington have applied for voluntary relegation. Rusthall completed their fixtures last Saturday and Glebe notched their 5th draw of the season (1-1) at Lydd Town. The only candidates for promotion from the Kent County League are Punjab United and it is up to the FA Leagues Committee to decide if they come up or not.

Cray Valley 2-3 Crowborough Athletic
Just the two games on this Wednesday night in 2015 and both went to the away teams with Greenwich Borough beating Canterbury City and Crowborough Athletic defeating Cray Valley.
Mo Eisa scored the only goal of the game for Borough and Michael Death, Tom Boddy and Jack Funnell were on target for the Crows.
