Sheppey United have kept their cards close to their chest during the summer but now they are happy to officially reveal their new recruits, with First Team coach Marcel Nimani welcoming them to the Total Power Stadium.

He gave this update to the Club Website;

“Following from the last report, I am now pleased to introduce to you all our new recruits for the upcoming season.

Starting from the top we welcome Jack Midson, Warren Mfula and Junior Aikhionbare. A trio full of talent, experience and goals.

At the back we have strengthened further with the addition of Matt Bourne and Corey Holder. Two excellent central defenders whose reputations speak for themselves.

In goal we welcome the experienced Adam Molloy and youthful Tommy Taylor.

I am also pleased to inform you all that fan favourite Jahmal Howlett-Mundle has signed a contract deal with the club.

Fourth week into our preseason has seen us go through three friendlies already. We started the campaign with an internal development game against our U23s in which we saw Jack Midson secure a hat-trick and Billy Bennett adding with two of his own. Further goals from George Crimmen and also an own goal.

On Saturday we took on the first competitive preseason friendly away to Ashford United. A great game in which our other recruit Warren Mfula scored a well deserved goal. In this game we were able compete throughout against a very talented Ashford side. The game ended 2-1 to Ashford.

On Tuesdays night we travelled to Margate to take on Jay Saunders side. Highlighting a few areas from the previous game at Ashford, we went on to win 4-1 in the end. A well drilled and disciplined performance complimented with some outstanding individual performances across the pitch. Goals from Billy Bennett, Warren Mfula x2 and Harrison Carnegie.

We go on to prepare with further games away to Sittingbourne, Ramsgate and Hythe Town.

This has been a very productive pre season so far and we are all encouraged by the prospect of this team in the upcoming season

As always, thank you for your enduring support

I look forward to reporting back to you in a few weeks time”
