Lockyer takes on huge challenge for ‘Mind’

Kennington striker, and SCEFL stalwart, Gary Lockyer, is taking on a huge challenge next month when entering a gruelling Duathlon in order to raise money for the charity ‘Mind’.

Lockyer was at the top of the scoring charts when football stopped at the end of last year but his golden boots won’t help him here as he takes to the road on both a bike and his own two feet.

Via his Just Giving page Gary has revealed his challenge and the reasons for it here:

Hi Guys,

I will be completing a duathlon on March the 21st for Mind Charity. This is a 10km run 40km cycle and 5km run. I am aiming to complete this in 2 hours or under and for every minute I go over I will add money to the fundraising.

I have chosen Mind charity, as everyone has been affected by mental health personally or through friends and family and believe it has been such a tough time for everyone over the last year. So my aim is to raise as much money and awareness as possible for such an important charity for everyone.

You are never alone.

Thanks,

Gary

Best of luck Gary!
