Lewisham Borough won their first Pre-season fixture of the year, coming away from Metrogas as 3-2 winners.
The Kent County Premier League side will be facing a few SCEFL sides during Pre-season and look to be tough opposition as they pushed Borough all the way at the University of Greenwich.
Two of the Lewisham goals came from a triallist with Josh Owen getting the other.
Lewisham Manager Justin Fevrier reacted via the Club Website:
“First and foremost, I have to thank Tim and Mike at Metrogas for welcoming us down for a friendly. It was an excellent opportunity to see the players on trial and those retained from last season.
Our fitness levels on the day clearly showed the benefits of our preseason work and our recruitment looks to be very positive.
There were some good trialist performances of note and existing players Bas Savage, and Jason Pinnock led with distinction.
We now bring our attention to our next fixture which brings a visit to Merland Rise and Banstead Athletic FC former club to Myself and Jason. We look forward to seeing Bob and Terry on the night!
KO is at 7:45 pm and we welcome any travelling Lewisham support.”
Ahead of the game, Fevrier confirmed 3 names that have a place in the Boro squad for the coming campaign.
21 year-old Stephen Ikpeme arrives at the Ladywell Arena having last been seen gracing the Midfield at Tunbridge Wells a couple of seasons ago.
The versatile Bruce Muchenje comes in from Erith & Belvedere for whom he scored against Lewisham Borough last year.
Jermaine Findlator has played for a whole host of clubs in the South-East including Fisher, Romford and Greenwich Borough. Easy to spot, due to his height, he is comfortable in all central positions on the pitch.
