Deal goalkeeper James Tonkin made a number of good saves as Derek Hares’ side beat Saltdean in the FA Vase second round.

He wasn’t needed in the shoot-out as the hosts skied two attempts and hit the post with another but he showed his class during the 90 minutes, with Deal winning 3-2 on spot-kicks after a 2-2 draw.

Jack Penney is our second Deal player, working hard against their high-flying opponents and also converting during the shoot-out.

Chatham resumed their free-scoring ways on their return to action after the four-week lockdown.

They won 5-3 at Horley in the FA Vase and two of their midfielders make our XI with Ryan Hayes scoring their second goal and Luke Rooney on target in either half.

Billy Bennett was unfortunate to finish on the losing team as Sheppey bowed out of the FA Vase.

He cancelled out Littlehampton’s opening goal in a 3-3 draw and also scored in the shoot-out but the Ites went out 5-4 on spot-kicks.

Gary Lockyer scored the clinching second goal as Kennington won 2-0 at Glebe to reach round three for the first time in their history.

Luke Tanner’s second-half double put Corinthian in charge at Hanworth Villa before last season’s semi-finalists conceded twice in the last 10 minutes and lost 6-5 on penalties.

Stansfeld came through their first-round tie 4-3 on penalties after Macey Malyon scored twice in a 2-2 draw with AFC Hayes.

Our top boss is Dan Scorer, who celebrated who 200th match in charge by leading Kennington to another FA Vase upset.

Congrats to all of the SCEFL players that featured!
