‘Kent Online’ Team of the Week

Saturday 11th January

Four SCEFL stars in the Team Of The Week this time around!

Dan Ellis is in goal after heroically playing on with a broken leg in Chatham’s FA Vase clash with Corinthian.

Chats lost 2-1 after extra time but Ellis made some “unbelievable” saves according to manager Scott Lindsey, who added his keeper will “go down in history”.

Oscar Housego scored both goals, including an extra-time winner, as Corinthian beat Chatham 2-1 in the FA Vase.

Connor Heffernan excelled in the No.10 role, also scoring the first goal, as Simon Halsey’s tactical switch paid off in Hollands & Blair’s 4-1 win at Fisher. It was a fourth straight win for a Blair side who are still in the Southern Counties East title race.

On-loan Sittingbourne wideman Liam Middleton scored the winner as Canterbury’s new-look side came from a goal down to beat Bearsted 2-1.

Middleton – brother of new joint-manager Chris – struck in the second half as City picked up their first points since Clive Cook and his entire playing squad quit the club before Christmas.
