Hamill next to join the Sheppey Revolution

Sheppey United have announced that Richie Hamill will be joining the club from fellow Premier Division side Fisher.

Hamill scored 10 goals for the Fish last season, mostly penalties, from his club-high 48 appearances.

The Sheppey website caught up with their new recruit for some quickfire questions.

Can you give a rundown of your playing career?

I started playing senior football at Phoenix, since then I have played for a few teams in this league. more recently for Cray Valley then Fisher for two and a half years.

What was the deciding factor in you joining the Ites? Talk us though how the moved happened?

After meeting with the management team and seeing some of the players already signed, it was clear they were putting together a squad which will compete this season.

What was your impression of the pitch, stadium and fans?

Sheppey away has always been an away game I’d look forward too because of how impressive the set up and fans are, really looking forward to playing there week in week out.

Will you miss playing on the 3G at St Paul’s Sports Ground?

I know some players are not keen on 3G pitches, but I really enjoyed playing at St Paul’s. However, there’s nothing better than playing on a good grass pitch.

What strengths do you have that you can bring to the team?

I’m a technical player with a good range of passing, also have a decent delivery from set pieces.

Do you have a message for the SUFC supporters?

Really looking forward to the season ahead, let’s hope we are competing for silverware come the end of the season.
