First Division – Saturday 5th October
The BIG First Division game ended all square as leaders FC Elmstead drew 1-1 with Rochester United at Lower Road. The visitiors needed a last minute leveller to earn their point though as Connor Cox scored to cancel out Steven Karkari’s effort for the hosts.
Due to a 3-1 win at Forest Hill Park, Rusthall now find themselves in second place in the table. A third league win in a row was secured with goals from Ryan Styles, Reuel Powell-Downey and Luke Adams.
Lewisham Borough came out on top in their South London battle with Meridian VP. Archie Todd and Justice Owusu were on target for the now third placed Borough in a 2-0 win.
Croydon left the Glentworth Sports Club as 4-1 winners to win for the third game in a row and move into 4th place. Andy Somo was yet again on target for the Trams as his brace helped them to a 4-1 win over Kent Football United.
Lydd Town slid into the top ten after winning 3-2 away at Greenways. Ryan Smith scored between a Bradley Baker double as the Lydders stretched their unbeaten run to 3 games to make their way up the First Division table.
Tim Beckford hit a hat-trick to help his SC Thamesmead side defeat Bridon Ropes 5-2 at Bayliss Avenue. The Acre are now in 12th after this impressive win with Ropes still placed at the bottom.
In a busy first half Snodland Town and Holmesdale scored twice each to share the points at Potyn’s Sports Field. Andy Constable and Ryan Golding put the Dale 2-0 up before Snodland came back through Tom Fitzgerald and Anthony Fenech.
Stansfeld came back from 2-0 down to lead 3-2 against Sutton Athletic before seeing Conor Evans earn their visitors a point with a last minute leveller. Joby Smith and Callum Flynn had given the visitors an early advantage before Billy Shinners, Ryan Hassan and Sam Ryan almost earned the hosts the win.
