Sutton Athletic will be in seventh heaven tonight after getting their season off to the perfect start and racing to the top of the table. James Sutherland, Conor Evans and Arlie Desanges all claimed a double with Chris McGinty also netting against an outclassed Greenways side. Croydon also began in electric form and seem to have found a star in Andy Somo who neeted a hat-trick at home to Rochester United as the Trams ran out 4-0 winners. Forest Hill Park also won by a 4-goal margin and have Tyreece Morris to thank for that as his first half hat-trick was improved upon in the second half when he got his fourth. Dennis Doci and Samuel Osei also found the net for Forest as they came from behind to easily beat Kent Football United in Dartford.
FC Elmstead upset one of pre-season favourites for the title when narrowly beating Kennington at the London Hire Ground. Marcus Cassius and Perrie Rose netted either side of a Gary Lockyer leveller to give the hosts an impressive win. It was a long trip today for SC Thamesmead but a worthwhile one as they returned from Lydd Town with all 3 points in a strong display. Tim Beckford, Chris Hubbard and Dan Edwards sent the Acre into a 3-goal lead meaning Ryan Sith’s late effort was a mere consolation.
The action came late at Meridian Sports Club as two goals in the last ten minutes gave Snodland Town a single goal victory over hosts Meridian VP. Ellis Hutton and Frankie Kennedy fired the visitors ahead before Harvey Brinkley set-up a tense finish with an 87th minute effort but it was too little too late and Snodland set for home with the points. It was honours even at Jockey Farm as Rusthall and Holmesdale cancelled each other out, drawing 1-1. Luke Adams fired the hosts ahead early on before Jordan Eels earned a deserved point for the Dale. A first half Mike McKenna double proved to be enough for Stansfeld to earn an opening day win over Bridon Ropes. The Ropes battled back in the second half but could only score once meaning the points stayed at Foxbury with the hosts.
