There were 20 FA Vase ties on Saturday with a further 3 coming on Sunday as 29 of our sides tried to earn a place in the Second Qualifying Round.
The Saturday afternoon action gave us 8 names into the next round.
Balham are through after beating Lewisham Borough 2-0 at the Mayfield Stadium. Tom Read and Cam Gordon got the goals in the first half meaning they will now visit Peacehaven in the next stage.
Erith & Belvedere will be playing Colliers Wood United next after they won 1-0 at home to Loxwood. Guyliano Mpungi with the 71st minute winner for the Deres today.
Fisher were the comfiest of all SCEFL winners to make it through. They won 4-0 at home to Little Common with Rob Brown and Tarik Ibrahim scoring before Julio Da Mata sealed matters with a late double.
Holmesdale won an all First Division tie with Kent Football United 4-2 at Oakley Road. Sam Adenola, Shameek Farrell and Nathan Palmer were among the scorers for the Dale who will host AFC Varndeanians in the next round.
K Sports handed Tunbridge Wells their first loss this season after winning their all Premier Division tie 2-1 at Cobdown. We may not know who scored for them but we know they scored 2 while Miles Cornwell netted his first of the campaign for Wells.
Lydd Town were 1 of 3 SCEFL sides to win through on penalties after they held their nerve best from the spot at home to Broadbridge Heath. The tie ended 1-1 during the 90 minutes with Olinto Santo equalising for the hosts in the First Half.
Punjab United left it late to force their tie to spot kicks with Will Johnson-Cole levelling Bearsted’s opener in the 90th minute. They then won the shoot-out 5-4 and next-up will host Horley Town in the second qualifying round.
Stansfeld won their second penalty shoot-out of the season after they got past Knaphill from the spot at Foxbury. In normal time Ollie Milton and Ryan Hassan both scored in a 2-2 draw and after winning through they will next play at Alford.
and now for the sides that unfortunately departed the competition on the day…
3 SCEFL teams lost on penalties.
FC Elmstead went out at Billingshurst after a mammoth shoot-out following a 2-2 draw.
Crowborough Athletic came out second best on spot kicks after drawing 1-1 at home to Molesey.
Snodland Town were dominant against Redhill but lost on penalties after drawing 2-2 in normal time.
Elsewhere…
Beckenham Town lost 2-1 at home to an impressive Littlehampton Town.
Denilson Carvalho scored twice in defeat for Tower Hamlets at Enfield Borough.
Ben Brown also scored a double but his Hollands & Blair team lost 4-2 away at Horley Town.
Forest Hill Park came out second best to Lingfield in a 5-goal thriller as did Rusthall by the same scoreline at Raynes Park Vale.
SC Thamesmead and AFC Croydon both lost 2-1 at Sheerwater and Wick respectively and Greewnays were obviously involved in the highest scoring game of the day, losing 5-4 away at Worthing United.
Meridian VP lost 3-1 in the late kick-off of the day at Waltham & Hersham.
