FA Cup Second Qualifying Round

Corinthian 0-1 Hampton & Richmond Borough
Folkestone Invicta 0-3 Chatham Town
Sheppey United 2-0 Welling United

Two SCEFL sides overcame higher level opposition on an incredible afternoon in the FA Cup.

The Apprentice taught the Master a few things at the Buildkent Stadium as Scott Lindsay’s Chatham Town beat Neil Cugley’s Folkestone Invicta 3-0.

The two-league difference between the teams was not evident at all as Chatham Town comfortably won with Dan Bradshaw scoring twice and Jack Evans adding the other.

Sheppey United are also through to Monday’s next round draw after they produced a stunning performance to beat Step 2 side Welling United.

Sheppey led in just the 12th minute, when Jahmal Howlett-Munde tapped home from a corner and it could have been more before Danny Devine scored on debut to make it 2-0.

The result was no doubt the best in the history of the Club and will remembered for a long time by the 300 home fans present.

It was not to be for Corinthian though as Hampton & Richmond Borough proved to be too tough a nut to crack, with the National League South side winning 1-0 at the Farm.

Futher reports and reaction from all 3 games to follow.
